Fog lights vs. headlights

Headlights are meant to be used when it becomes difficult to see traffic and possible obstructions in the dark. They are placed pretty high off the ground and light the way directly in front of the vehicle. Fog lights are placed low and more to the sides so they do not result in an undesirable glare unlike headlights.
